Cavalier Computers, in partnership with University Human Resources (UHR), offers full-time UVA, UVA at Wise, UVA Health System, and UPG faculty and staff a Payroll Deduction program to assist them in purchasing products from Cavalier Computers. This interest-free program will enable qualified university employees of UVA and UPG to spread out payments over 12 months (click below for more details). All payments will be deducted automatically from the participating employee’s paycheck.


UVA Academic Division Payroll Deduction Details

Criteria for Eligibility

The following conditions must be met for a purchase to be eligible for the Cavalier Computers Payroll Deduction Program:

  • The employee must be a nine, ten, eleven or twelve-month UVA Faculty or Staff member with benefits working thirty-two hours or more weekly.
  • Employees must be employed at UVA for a minimum of twelve (12) consecutive months.
  • A minimum purchase of $150.00 with a 10% deposit is required. The amount deducted cannot exceed $3,000.
  • No more than two open transactions are allowed at a time.

Payment Process

  • Deductions will be taken for 26 bi-weekly from the pay period after the date of purchase in equal payments until the purchase is paid in full.
  • Monthly Faculty will have their pay deducted in equal monthly payments during their nine, ten or eleven pay periods.
  • Teaching and general faculty who are paid monthly will have their pay deducted in equal monthly payments during their twelve pay periods.
  • The remaining purchase balance can be paid off in FULL at any time.
  • If an individual is no longer employed by the University of Virginia before the completion of the Payroll Deduction, the FULL REMAINING AMOUNT will be due and payable immediately. Products purchased via Cavalier Computers Payroll Deduction remain the property of Cavalier Computers until paid in full.
  • The purchaser grants the University of Virginia a purchase money security interest in each of the goods purchased from Cavalier Computers to secure payment of the purchase price for such goods. This security interest shall be effective from the date the goods are delivered to the customer and shall cease when the University of Virginia has been paid in full for all of the goods delivered to the customer.
  • There are NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES on products purchased via payroll deduction unless a product is defective.

Health Systems Payroll Deduction Details

Criteria for Eligibility

The following conditions must be met for a purchase to be eligible for the Cavalier Computers Payroll Deduction Program:

  • The employee must be a full-time UVAMC staff member with benefits or a UVAMC employee with benefits who works a minimum of 20-hours per week. Eligible staff must have been employed at the UVAMC for a minimum of (12) consecutive months.
  • Deposit
    • Full-time Employees with Benefits.
      • A minimum purchase of $150.00 with a 10% deposit is required. The amount deducted cannot exceed $3,000.
    • Employees with a minimum 20-hours per week with benefits.
      • A 25% deposit is required at the time of purchase and the amount to be deducted cannot exceed $3,000 ($4,000 purchase with 25% down payment).
    • No more than two open transactions are allowed at a time.
  • Payment Process

    • Deductions will be taken for 26 equal bi-weekly payments from the pay period after the date of purchase until the purchase is paid in full.
    • The remaining purchase balance can be paid off in FULL at any time.
    • If an individual is no longer employed by the University of Virginia Medical Center before the completion of the Payroll Deduction, the FULL REMAINING AMOUNT will be due and payable immediately.
    • Products purchased via Cavalier Computers Payroll Deduction remain the property of Cavalier Computers until paid in full.
    • There are NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES on products purchased via payroll deduction unless a product is defective.

College at Wise Payroll Deduction Details


Cavalier Computers, in partnership with the University of Virginia's College at Wise Human Resources (UHR), offers full-time UVA faculty and staff a Payroll Deduction program to assist them in purchasing technology products from Cavalier Computers (computers, printers, etc.). This interest-free program will enable qualified university employees of the University of Virginia's College at Wise to spread out payments over 12 months (26 two-week pay periods). All payments will be deducted automatically from the participating employee’s paycheck. 9/10/11-Month Faculty will have their pay deducted during the monthly periods when they receive their salary. No payments are due from them during the time that they are not on the university payroll. Teaching and general faculty who are paid monthly will have their pay deducted during their 12 pay periods.
